What would bring alive all of India and connect it together anywhere? A cup of tea. This is how I would sum up how I feel about the Bombay Cutting Chai tea blend from TeaBox. “With one cup of this tea, you take a trip to the heart of all things India”, that’s what TeaBox says about this blend, and I agree with them here. There’s warm cardamom, there’s sharp ginger, there are exotic fennel seeds, all blended together with a strong Assam CTC tea. Add some milk and sugar, and there is a perfect cup of indulgence.
Open the packet, and the aroma of bold cardamom with a hint of fennel rises up in the air, and you can see dark black tea leaves with ginger, cardamom and fennel seeds.

Add about 1 tsp of the tea leaves to a glass of filtered water, and you get a dark coppery infusion with cardamom, ginger and fennel seeds, with an aroma of cardamom, ginger, fennel, herbs, mint, eucalyptus.

The final tea liquor is a deep copper in color, with a high intensity aroma of cardamom, ginger, fennel seeds, mint, wood, herbs and sweet spices. Take a sip and you can feel a citrus zest, with flavors of cardamom, ginger, fennel, mint, herbs and spices. Add some milk, cream and sugar or honey, this medium caffeine blend is good for having at any time of the day. If you feel a little experimentative, try it with soy milk or almond milk and go vegan.

This blend is not heavily spiced, it is quite light, so if that’s what you like, you know this could be your kind of blend. It has a great aroma, a smooth body and quite a unique flavor profile. This is that kind of a chai tea that can get you going at any time of the day, something you can take a break at work for and have with friends, or come home from work and take a sip of. Especially, if you are fennel fan, this tea could be something you would want to try. It is bold and unique, and a great blend to try.
