There is a variety of flavors of cold coffees at Dunkin’ Donuts, called as Dunkaccinos. My favorite would be Jamaican Rum and Almonds. It was discontinued for sometime and now its back again, with a Bang!

Dunkin’ describes this Dunkaccino as, “We’ve spiked Dunkin’s own cold coffee made with out favorite Espresso Coffee Beans with some rum syrup to jolt your unsuspecting taste buds into action, sprinkled with almond shavings over a bath of creamy whipped cream”

Its quite accurate and precise a description for the cup of coffee in front of me. The rum flavor is very mild, and to a lot of my rum enthusiast friends who i offered a sip, it had a mild tint of rum, reminiscent of the uber cool Old Monk. We all agreed that the rum flavr was very mild, so much so that, sometimes it was even difficult to perceive the flavor.

Almond shavings are good. They add a crunchy flavor to the otherwise smooth cream with the mild jolt of the rum tint. Whether it is actually Jamaican rum tint or just plain rum tint, remains to be seen. The almonds are not scarce, they are plenty, which is good. No cost cutting there. The creaminess of the coffee is superb, and the whipped cream makes it a visual delight too.

I like my cold coffee unshaken, so the whipped cream and the toppings stay till the last. I generally find the whipped cream and the toppings yummier than the coffee, so i tend to save it for the last. Butin this, if you really want to savour the rum flavor throughout the time you sip the cup, you will have to stir it well, th le rum syrup tends to settle at the bottom at times.
