Mondo – Handcrafted Fine Dine (a brand of Neve Hospitality) is a restaurant which narrates the story of uniqueness of food and cuisines across the globe. The word ‘Mondo’ has three different meanings – it means ‘striking or remarkable of its own kind’ in Italian and ‘Ekmev’ in Sanskrit.
Located in Dahisar (west), Mondo’s menu usually comprises of a six course meal – one from Indian cuisine and one from International cuisine.
What makes this restaurant stand apart from every other fine dine restaurant one has ever been to is that Mondo changes the cuisines on the menu every 14 days. So, every two weeks, the menu completely changes here.
However, if you ever visited the place and ended up falling in love with a particular dish, you can always visit their website and request it to return. Now why would some restaurant do that? It’s because Mondo aims to educate people about the diversity and quality of food, and not serve the usual, stereotypical dishes that you can get just about anywhere.
Apart from this, they also serve exotic sandwiches along with an exclusive collection of teas and coffees all day long. They also have a very exquisite range of mocktails to serve all kinds of taste buds.
So far, the restaurant has covered cuisines like Mughlai, Tuscany Italian, Canary Island, Punjabi, Mewari, Gascony, Moroccan, Mexican and Kashmiri. Mondo was even blessed by the Royal families of Jodhpur and Udaipur at their launch.
This Holi, Mondo becomes a complete must-visit. They have curated a holi special menu that is sure to leave you asking for more, and then some more with dishes like –
Gujjia – deep fried pockets of the Himachali origins stuffed with curried vegetable mix
Lobia Vada – A fritter made using black eyed beans
Mirchi Pakora – A chilli batter dipped fritter
Malpua Rabdi – A deep fried pancake of the Bengali origin served with Rabdi flavoured condensed milk
Thandai Mousse – A new form of traditional spiced milk coolant served during Holi festivities

Mondo does look like a classy joint. Mumbai sorely needs something like this. The food photos look great. I like the concept of changing the menu every 14 days, as that will keep the diners interest alive for a longer time.

The interior looks really nice, quite modern. I think it’s really cool that they change up their menu every two weeks, you never really see restaurants doing that.

Seems an amazing restaurant, although I can imagine my husband hating this place cos he is “ordering same food every time” kind of guy. But i love the idea of diversity and introducing new dishes every two weeks!

Wow! Mondo looks perfect with great ambience and delicious food. Great to know they change their menu after every 14 days. Such an innovative idea to credit the diversity of food. I have plans to visit Mumbai this year and I’m definitely going to relish some great dishes at Mondo.
