Valanjanganam Waterfalls is located on the Kottayam-Kumily Road (the Kollam-Theni National Highway) between Pambanar and Peermade. It falls on the road to Sabrimala, especially for tourists coming in from Tamil Nadu. It is right by the road, so everyone coming by that road passes by it.
The Valanjanganam waterfalls are also called as Ninnumullippara and travelers to Velankani, Palani, Munnar, Thekkady, Vagamon, Parumthumpara would be passing by these falls as it comes on their route. The waterfalls are really majestic, and they are quite milky from all the froth forming from the fall. The waterfalls goes beneath the road and continues as a stream on the other side.
The police let us know that recently someone fell into the waterfalls and died while taking a selfie so it is strictly prohibited to go close to the falls, and they must be enjoyed from the roadside only. Standing on the roadside, one call feel the mist floating in the air from the waterfalls, and it is a very beautiful sight. I got reminded of the beautiful waterfalls in the movie “Baahubali – The Beginning” from these waterfalls.
